We are recruiting for a highly-skilled and seasoned professional to fill the Senior Systems Analyst position that supports SQL server database management, Human Resources, and Financial Accounting Systems.
The individual selected for this position will have experience in developing and analyzing solutions to address business needs primarily within Human Resources and Finance. They will be equipped with the skills and experience necessary to take on any of the following duties as assigned:
Work with clients to understand and define needs, develop and recommend solutions, and plan for implementation and integration of solutions into the current business processes and systems.
Assume responsibility for the operation, administration, and maintenance of the systems and network infrastructure and services including maintenance of the software systems including maintenance of servers, directories, databases, hosts for systems, disaster recovery, and hardware workstations.
Support users and serve as a lead worker instructing other employees in methods or procedures needed to carry out their work assignments.

Provides primary support for database administration, client/server and personal computers systems using knowledge of database methodology, systems architecture, high-level languages, and communication software.
Maintains and enhances database systems and PC software-based systems; installs and configures new and replacement databases, hardware, systems and software.
Maintains Agency database systems and functions as a database administrator.
Models and develops database architecture; creates data dictionaries; prepares and coordinates external system designs to meet stated requirements; prepares comprehensive test data, and tests programs to completion; coordinates system testing/user participation in testing to assure overall operability; plans and implements systems schedules; assures security of systems and databases.
Writes functional specifications for projects; understands structured programming techniques such as Object Oriented Development (OOD); programs in high-level languages; writes user documents.
Trains users in program utilization and assists in solving problems related to software applications, and user accounts; interfaces with users as required and at regularly scheduled meetings.
Communicates to manager regarding system changes. Updates to the job book to reflect system changes; follows IT change management policy and procedures.
Performs preventive maintenance including rebooting servers, checking status of automatic backups, verifying system services are running, restoring databases from backups; modifies system parameters and options; maintains database images of historical data; monitors health of data warehouse.
Demonstrates regular and reliable attendance.
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Knowledge of and skill in applying:
Applicable computer hardware, software, networking and system configuration principles and design;
Computer programming principles;
Systems analysis and design principles;
Project management principles and practices;
Customer service principles;
Modern office equipment.
Skill in and ability to:
Perform administrative functions on a Microsoft SQL server database or Oracle Database;
Write Queries in Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle and be able to tie multiple data sets together;
Document processes and procedures;
Develop and provide user education and support documentation;
Applicable design, programming and process mapping;
Coordinate the configuration, testing and implementation of technology solutions;
Read and interpret technical documents;
Maintain system and process documentation;
Utilize a computer and relevant software applications;
Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction;
Define user needs and identify alternative solutions;
Administer and maintain systems; and
Required: Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, an engineering discipline or a related field and three years experience writing SQL queries and programs and experience with Microsoft BI or Tableau. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
Any required education must come from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the U S Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or foreign equivalent.
