One column portion can come off (pictured). Essentially, all columns once extended stay intact except one that can come undone (meaning, when the column is tightened it stays intact, as intended, when purposefully loosened you can remove the portion). When tightened down, operates securely, as it should.

Fantastic tripod for travel - super lightweight carbon fiber. Excellent, lightly used, shape - one small 2/8" tear in foam, as pictured.

I use this with (a different ballhead) up to Pentax 67 + 200mm lens (medium format).

Please research for specs. Full extension is approximately 50" (4' 2").

$40 cash in around Gig Harbor / Tacoma.
