At Nexus, we believe in the power of meeting young people where they are. We offer school-based therapy, operate an emergency shelter, intercept homeless youth through a street outreach program and more across the greater South King County area.
The Shelter Monitor at Nexus Youth and Families assists in the daily operation of the shelter and ensures a safe environment for young adults:
Processes program referrals, screens for eligibility, conducts intakes, tracks data
Performs household chores in shelter
Monitors the behaviors and interactions of program participants
Models appropriate social skills
Attends staff meetings and trainings
You will need to have:
Two years of experience working with youth; experience working with at-risk youth preferred
Demonstrated ability to appropriately intervene in crisis situations
Ability to communicate and set clear and firm limits with program participants
High School Diploma
WA state driver's license and proof of insurance
This position works 10pm to 8am (overnight) Friday - Sunday (30 hours per week)
