Nexus Youth and Families
Direct Care Staff (DCS) are responsible for supervising and counseling youth in a residential setting by providing a safe and structured environment and ensuring that the residents needs for food, transportation, and clothing are met.
A DCS also:
facilitates groups on effective communication and life skills
provides crisis intervention counseling
participates in the shelter advocate program
assists in the daily operation of the shelter (i.e. shopping, household tasks/maintenance, cleaning)
You will need to have:
At least one year of experience working with at-risk youth in a homeless or group home
Crisis intervention experience
WA State Driver's license and proof of insurance
There 2 opportunities:
Overnight Sunday - Thursday (full time) 12am - 8am and Swing (full time) 4pm - 12am
The salary for this position is $16.00 per hour.
