We have a great team of caregivers. Kory is in a wheel chair, uses a communication device and finger spelling to communicate. Responsibilities include typical caregiver duties such as preparing some meals and helping him eat, assisting with toileting, dressing him and care of clothing and light housekeeping duties related to Kory. You may need to accompany him to PT/OT/speech sessions, support group meetings and help with his home exercise routine. Kory takes the Access bus and transit so you will call them to set up trips.
The fun stuff is getting to know Kory, planning fun outings and activities, and helping him implement projects or ideas. Activities may include: reading to him, take him to the library or downtown for trips, simple art projects, chatting with him, helping him implement his project ideas, going and getting coffee... you get the idea. We are really looking for a creative, fun companion for Kory. THIS IS NOT A BABYSITTING SIT IN FRONT OF THE TV TYPE JOB!!!
We are looking for someone to come in Mondays 8:30 AM to 5:30, Saturdays 9AM-5:30PM. and Wednesday and Thursday evenings 5pm to 9pm. The pay starts at over $13+ per hour depending on experience. CNA's pay is somewhat higher. Kory is on COPES and we use that pay scale. Medical insurance is included if you qualify. More hours may come available.
Training is provided if needed through the state or an agency and would begin after clearing background check.
Please contact us through the e-mail address firstname.lastname@example.org with a brief description of your skills, experience, why you think this position is a good fit and a method to get in touch with you. E-mail and phone number are preferred. We are planning to do interviews RIGHT AWAY. Positions starts ASAP.
