The bicycle industry has lost it's ways. Go into a bike shop these days and they don't want to help you unless you're spending thousands of dollars on a new bike. You'll be hard pressed to find an adult bike for under $1,000. If you want something that's good quality but will not set you back a grand or more then here you go.
I currently have a few high-end fully suspended mountain bikes available for sale as well as some projects. All are a much better value then buying new.
