Fantastic heavy feel and look to this vintage 12" Terrestrial globe on a cast iron stand. Take a look at the countries that have changed! The globe's cartography reflects political borders of the era, such as Persia instead of Iran, helping to date the item. USSR! A great history lesson in geography. Made in the 1930s or 1940s by the George F. Cram company in Indianapolis, IN. 17" tall including the stand. Adjustable tilt. Features a full axis rotation and a metal half-meridian labeled with degrees. Spins. Some wear to the bottom from use. Paper loss to other areas. Still displays well. Would look great in an industrial office, library, den, cabin, lodge, or home.
