An incredible find for an advancing student or collector. This is a genuine Anton Schroetter Geigenbaumeister 3/4 violin, handmade in the world-famous violin-making hub of Mittenwald, Germany. Original Matching Set.
This is not a modern factory instrument; it is a high-quality workshop piece with a carved spruce top and a beautiful flamed maple back. It produces the warm, complex tone that vintage German wood is known for.
The "Complete Set" Advantage:
Original Branded Bow: Includes the rare, matching "Schroetter" stamped bow. The wood is dense, stiff, and high-quality—likely Pernambuco or select Brazilwood.
Original Hard Case: (made in W. Germany stamped): Includes the vintage hardshell case with original latches and key.
Condition: Excellent structural health. No cracks. The soundpost is correctly set. Minor cosmetic scuffs that show its vintage pedigree.
Brand new strings. Violin has been checked out and dates to 1950’s. This set has remained together for 70+ years.
***The resin from 1950 Germany is like having the window sticker for your classic car.
***This is a professional-grade student outfit. A new equivalent would cost over $900 today, and still wouldn’t match the sound and the story.
