Last week I saw an old house being torn down. as it turned out the house was actually a log cabin that was over a hundred years old. The logs were covered with siding on the outside and drywall on the inside so you could not tell that it was built out of logs.
I rescued:
45 un-milled 8 foot long logs that are on average 8 inches wide ($40 each)
7 un-milled 12 foot long logs that were used for the rafters and are on average 6 inches wide ($50 each)
and four huge 16-20 foot logs that were used as the base ($80 each)
all the wood was completely dry until yesterday when it rained. These can be used to make a carport, fence post, retaining wall, small log cabin, lots of potential applications
There is some rot on the ends of a couple beams, there are imperfections, a little paint and some nails still.
will make a deal for the lot. Let me know if there are any questions.
