I have over 13 years experience teaching piano to students of all ages and experience levels, from young children to adult. I am flexible in building a curriculum that matches a student's musical interests while still teaching important classical music techniques. I use method books as a foundation and build on them with classical, pop, church and other music genres depending on the student's interests and goals.
With me, your student will learn:
° Music theory
° Scales and chord development
° Proper piano technique
° Playing with musical expression
Your student will participate in 2 recitals each year. The Christmas recital is held at a retirement home for seniors, and the spring recital is held at the Hartley Mansion in Everett. My students also gather together for 2 performance classes a year in which they practice performing in front of their fellow students, and then we review musical concepts and theory through games and other fun activities.
My membership in the Snohomish County Music Teachers Association opens up opportunities for your student to participate in contests, master teacher programs, and other area-wide musical events and programs.
I have a music degree from Skagit Valley College as well as a BA in elementary education from the University of Washington.
I would be happy to provide parent references.
I am located in South Marysville, serving Marysville, Lake Stevens and north Everett areas. Lessons are in my home.
My lessons are 45 minutes long. My current rate is $25 per lesson.
I would love to introduce your student to the life-long joy of making beautiful music!
