The irrigation manager is a hands-on position that coordinates all irrigation related activities for a high end, residential, full service, landscape design/build company. Qualified candidates will design, install, modify, maintain, and trouble-shoot irrigation systems in conjunction with construction, maintenance, and seasonal color departments. Position requires a service-minded self-starter committed to high quality standards.
Duties
• Oversee daily scheduling, routing, and execution of irrigation services. Performed by self and 1-2 irrigation technicians depending on seasonal demand.
• Design new and modify existing systems
• Manage seasonal services, including system startups, winterizations, and backflow testing.
• Lead troubleshooting, repair, and service of systems
• Prepare materials lists and cost estimates
• Secure permits from local jurisdictions as needed
• Supervise small installation crews (2-3)
• Oversee proper install of poc, wiring, pipe, controllers, pumps
• Generate timely and accurate billing summaries
• Communicate issues with clients as needed and follow up when work is complete
• Coordinate subcontracted backflow test and report submittals
• Forecast, order, and manage supplies, tools, and equipment
• Oversee seasonal adjustment of controller programing on maintenance accounts
• Sales of irrigation services to non-maintenance or construction prospect clients
Skill set
• 3-5 years of technical experience in irrigation required.
• Rain Bird Training Certificate, Irrigation Association Certification, NALP Landscape Technician Certification preferred.
• Computer knowledge (mac or windows), Microsoft office (word, excel, outlook)
• Familiarity or ability to learn hunter hydrawise controller and other controller types
• Familiarity with flow sensors, and water efficient technology
• WA backflow testing certification a plus
• Knowledge of low voltage lighting systems and ability to supervise or support lighting system installations, troubleshooting, and repairs.

This job operates in a professional field environment, outside in all weather conditions. This role also includes routine use of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Position type and expected hours of work
This is a salaried full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7am-3:30pm with hours varying depending on season.
Salary
Competitive pay range of $78,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience.
