Here is a brand-new ACiQ TL04-1 smart thermostat manufactured by Midea, who makes many of the name brand heat pumps. To make a long story short, I installed an ACiQ R32 heat pump and it's been great working on a good 24v t-stat but it has RS485 communication capabilities for even finer control so I wanted to change to that. I ordered this same-brand thermostat but when I hooked it up, it could not communicate with my air handler. After going around in circles with ACiQ tech support several times, they finally figured out it's not compatible with my system. While Midea makes a lot of the ACiQ systems, mine turns out to be made by Gree and the communication protocol is proprietary to them. Now I've figured out which thermostat I actually need and have ordered it but I have no use for this one. It is perfect, only connected long enough to find out it doesn't go with my system. It has RS485 capability if your terminals are HA and HB. I mistakenly assumed my H1 and H2 corresponded to those, but no. It can also operate in a 24v hookup as usual. A lot of nice features and works with a Wi Fi app. Can be mounted with or without the white backplate that is there to cover old screw holes if you want. Available to see almost any time, thanks for looking. (the first photo is a stock one to show what the screen looks like) Please don't waste my time if you're a flake.
