I'm gathering interest in barnyard mix ducklings. I intend to set the eggs for an expected hatch date of 2/9, with ducklings ready to go to a new brooder on valentines day!
The temperment of my layers is fantastic! My appleyard mix will follow me right out the gate to get gas, then scurry back when when we let her know we saw her, my drake is the best to his girls, my swedish is calm and quiet and bobs her head every time she sees me. I don't think I've ever really heard my welsh harlequin speak independently, she is very calm and quiet. My buff is a tad loud, but really calm. My cayuga and khaki aren't laying right now, they are high energy and the khaki is loud. The khaki loves snuggle time after a bath though while she preens herself and you watch tv.
My cayuga and khaki hens are available for rehoming together, for $50. I have 2 ancona juvenile drakes and a small wh juvenile drake. You can have one for free with the hens.
My hens are as follows: welsh harlequin, appleyard/harlequin mix, cayuga, black swedish, buff, and a khaki campbell. My drake is an appleyard wh mix.
I believe the current layers are my wh and my swedish, possibly appleyard mix and swedish.
I'm not expecting a lot of ducklings, my intent this hatch is to check fertility and hatch rate. This will be first come, first served, no deposit to get on the list for ducklings this hatch. These will be straight run only (no identified gender).
