Hello, I have two 9 week old ancona ducklings that are sounding like drakes, and a miniature welsh harlequin (call duck?) male duckling about 13 weeks old. Unfortunately, both my ancona ended up male, which means I need to reduce my drake numbers before maturity for hen/flock safety. I do not have space for a bachelor flock at this time.
I'm open to them going to their own responsible flock, or for processing/consumption.
I'm hoping to find them placement this week.
Rehoming to a flock would be ideal due to wonderful temperment, but I'm not nieve of the fate of extra drakes. The temperment is why I'm not processing myself.
As a reminder for those starting out, the safe hen to drake ratio is 3-5 hens per drake depending on breed.
