Selling my 2005 Subaru Forester X with 244,000 miles. I purchased it at auction with 182k miles and have owned it since 2019. It’s been a very reliable and practical car for me and has handled commuting, and bad weather without issues.
Maintenance / Mechanical:
• Head gaskets replaced at 182k miles
• Timing belt replaced at 182k miles
• Water pump replaced at 182k miles
• Front axles and rear wheel bearings replaced at 220k miles
• Brakes replaced at 220k miles
• New ignition coil and spark plug wires replaced at 244k miles
• Regular oil changes and basic upkeep during my ownership
The 2.5L boxer engine runs smooth, sometimes in the cold weather it has a hard time starting, but that’s typical of these cars and the extreme cold. Subaru’s AWD system works great, especially in rain and snow. No overheating and it has always been dependable for daily driving.
It has occasionally thrown a P0420 check engine light code (very common on older Subarus due to catalytic converter efficiency). It comes and goes and has never affected performance, fuel economy, or reliability.
Interior & Features:
• Clean interior for the age but has stains as you can see in pictures
• Comfortable seats
• Power windows and locks
• Heat works, A/C doesn’t. Threw a belt and I haven’t cared to replace.
• Good visibility and lots of cargo space
• Rear seats fold flat
• Has full size spare tire
Exterior:
• Typical cosmetic wear for a 20-year-old vehicle (small dings, scratches, paint wear)
• Nothing that affects how it drives
• Good daily driver, ski/camping car, or winter beater
Extras:
• Includes TWO full extra sets of wheels/tires (great for winter and summer setups)
Overall it’s an honest, dependable older Subaru that still has plenty of life left and would make a great commuter, first car, or outdoor/adventure vehicle.
Clean title in hand.
Message me if interested or to set up a time to see it.
