Position Overview. EDCO Metal Fabricators seeks a reliable, highly skilled, and detail oriented Financial Controller. This role manages day to day accounting, maintains strong internal controls, prepares accurate and timely financial reports, ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements, supports cash management, and provides leadership. The ideal candidate is experienced, proactive, and comfortable working in a manufacturing or construction related environment. This is a stable, long‑term position with a well‑established local manufacturer, supported by strong leadership and a collaborative team environment. This position is not remote; onsite presence is required.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
• Prepare monthly internal financial statements, including work in process schedules
• Maintain the general ledger and perform all account reconciliations
• Provide financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic reporting
• Maintain job cost tracking reports
• Maintain fixed asset subledger, depreciation schedules, and reconciliation to the general ledger
Payroll & Employee Compensation
• Assist with and manage bi weekly payroll preparation
• Ensure accurate payroll reporting for state and federal requirements
Accounts Payable & Receivable
• Manage vendor invoice processing and payments
• Prepare and issue customer invoices across multiple systems and jurisdictions
• Apply proper and compliant sales tax for all applicable states
Tax Compliance & External Reporting
• Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and payroll tax reports
• Prepare schedules and work papers for an external CPA firm to complete the annual federal tax return
• Assist with proactive tax planning
Cash & Process Controls
• Support cash flow management and banking activities
• Maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures
General Administrative & Advisory Duties
• Perform or assist with general accounting, recordkeeping, and administrative tasks
Requirements
• Thorough understanding of accounting principles and procedures
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise (Contractor Version preferred)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Job costing experience, including revenue recognition for long term projects
• Working knowledge of S Corporations
• Strong references from similar small business environments
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 7+ years of accounting experience desired
• CPA strongly preferred
• 5+ years of accounting or financial leadership experience, ideally in manufacturing or construction
Schedule & Salary Range. This role is a fully onsite, full-time position, scheduled Monday through Friday. The expected salary range for this position is $85,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and industry background.
