1. two receivers (first and second photos). one has recording function (I think). you can set up multiple satellites. when you switch channels the receiver will send saved position data to the dish motor.
2. dish motor (third photos). it searches and positions based on the satellite position data you save in the receiver.
3. all dish install hardware except for the dish (last photo). I am sure you can get dish from craigslist like DirecTV or Dish Network for free.
used to do that a lot for fun. now retired, downsize and move out of state.
