I’m clearing out my garage and selling the entire remaining inventory of a toy I created about 20 years ago called Discmos. If you’re a reseller, a parent, a poker player, a teacher, or someone who just likes high‑quality tactile stuff, these are worth a look.
What Are Discmos?
Discmos are 13‑gram ceramic poker chips (the same weight and feel as casino chips) printed with children’s images. They were originally designed as an open‑ended toy — no rules, no instructions, just a beautifully made object that kids could use however their imagination led them.
I created six themed sets:
- Outback – Australian animals
- Wild America – North American animals
- Safari – African animals
- Fantasy – kings, queens, creatures, objects
- Art School – colors, art tools, creative icons
- Road Crew – trucks, equipment, construction themes
Each Discmo is uniquely numbered, originally intended to support a collectible line similar to trading cards or Beanie Babies.
Why They’re Great
- Open‑ended play: infants use them for motor skills, older kids use them like flash cards, story starters , and encourages kids to invent their own games.
-Use as reward tokens or positive‑reinforcement chips — kids love earning and collecting them, and the ceramic feel makes them feel “special” compared to stickers or plastic trinkets.
- Durable ceramic: these are not cheap plastic tokens — they’re professional quality ceramic chips made by Chipco in the USA.
- Fidget‑friendly: long before “fidget toys” were a thing, people naturally clicked, stacked, shuffled, and spun these.
- Poker‑ready: if you want a unique set of poker chips for home games, these feel fantastic. Same weight, same sound, just with fun artwork.
- Great for teachers, therapists, game designers, or makers who want a tactile object with personality.
What’s for Sale?
I have about 15,000 individual Discmos across six sets. 60 different chips. I’m selling them in two ways:
1. The Whole Lot (Preferred)
If you want the entire inventory — for resale, craft projects, game design, Poker Tournaments, or whatever — make me an offer.
- For reference, these Poker chips sell online for $1.54 per chip. https://buypokerchips.com/products/archetype-ceramic-composite-poker-chips)
- I was selling them for $2.00 a chip through Amazon and brick and motor stores back in 2008.
2. Set pricing
Up to 50 chips = $1.00 per chip
50 - 100 chips = $0.75 per chip
