By far the coolest looking Gibson Melody Maker you'll find! Did you ever wonder what a goldtop Melody Maker from the 60's would look like if they actually made one?
This is a one of a kind original, Dax&Co-customized, genuine vintage Gibson guitar. A thin coat of 100% nitrocellulose lacquer gold paint has been added to the top, then aged and relic'd to look authentic... right down to the fine lacquer checking!
This 1965 single pickup Melody Maker was converted to a dual pickup "D" style. The pickups are Gibson Classic '57 humbuckers, with all high quality electronics. A custom aged pearloid pickguard was added, and the tuners upgraded to Gibson Deluxe aged nickel.
This guitar looks, plays, and sounds like a dream, with super low, fast action and tone for days! THIS GUITAR FLAT OUT ROCKS!!!
It's nicknamed "Old Glory" on the truss rod cover...perhaps from the (bullet?) hole through the "o" in Gibson??? Talk about character!!! (we stuck a screw through it, but it's perfectly stable) No headstock cracks or repairs...it's a very solid player.
