Warren Woodward embossed serigraph signed and numbered(66/500), one of only 500 limited edition produced from his original abstract painting titled "Island Shores". Has the WW Graphics sticker and is beautifully professionally framed and matted with a total dimension of (30"x 36"). This is an embossed serigraph. Beautiful piece of abstract coastline art by this Australian born artist who moved to Los Angeles after WWII. Warren Woodward is well known for his colorful oils and serigraphs which are represented in many galleries and private collections throughout the United States. His serigraphs are original works of art and are conceived and executed by him. Serigraphs are created with screens of finely woven silk stretched on rigid frames hinged to a board. Like etchings, lithographs, or wood blocks, which require a separate plate, stone or block for each color printed, every serigraph color is laid down with its own screen. After processing, the screen forms a type of stencil, and then the paint is forced through the clear parts of the silk onto the canvass, or other materials, by a rubber squeege. The raised areas in the white sand are the embossed part of the process and really set off the piece. Not seen in his works very often. The finished product is artistically beautiful because the entire process is handcrafted. He owned WW Graphics in L.A. for many years and passed away in 1993.
This serigraph looks much better than the photos taken with my phone...you must see it to really appreciate the artistry.
