I'm a freelance editor with twelve years' experience at a boutique publishing house in Manhattan as well as five years with a semi-freelance critiquing and editing firm in San Francisco. I have experience with creative fiction as well as non-fiction; my most recently completed projects include a memoir of a boyhood in Alaska, a textbook on estate tax law, and a literary thriller novel. Dozens of my clients have published books, both traditionally and via self-publishing, and I have loads of stellar references available.

Rates range from just over a penny a word for proofing to three cents a word for full critiques including character, plot, and style analyses. I can help with your agent search as well as crafting a cover letter and synopsis. I'm also available to simply read your MS and talk to you about whether it's ready to be marketed, its skill level and promise.
I'm also a publishing fiction writer, author of a story collection and novel, both of which were featured in the New York Times. I recently completed a fellowship at Harvard's Radcliffe Institute while working on my next novel. I've published reviews and essays in New York Magazine, O, the Oprah Magazine, Esquire, The Sun, and many others. I have an MFA in Fiction and Screenwriting from the Michener Center for Writers at UT Austin.
New! I offer wedding vow editing/writing to help you find the right words for that special day (yes, even last-minute.)
Please email me with questions, or for more details on the editing process. Stellar references available.
