O.B. Williams has been building custom architectural woodwork in Seattle since 1889.
This is not a repetitive production machining position and this is not an entry-level role.
We build high-end custom cabinetry, paneling, doors, mouldings, and architectural interiors for demanding residential and commercial projects. Every project is different. Every day requires craftsmanship, precision, creativity, and problem-solving.
Our CNC equipment was installed in 2023 and includes X, Y, Z, and C-axis capability with moulder head operations. We regularly perform radius work, elliptical work, carving, and highly customized architectural components.
We are seeking an experienced CNC Cabinetmaker / Programmer who understands cabinetmaking and fabrication—not just machine operation. The right candidate can work independently from shop drawings, develop machining strategies, solve problems, and take ownership of quality and production.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Program, set up, and operate CNC equipment
• Develop machining strategies and optimize workflows
• Perform on-floor programming edits and troubleshooting
• Review and interpret detailed shop drawings
• Coordinate closely with cabinetmakers and fabrication departments
• Produce accurate parts with minimal rework
• Continuously improve machining efficiency and quality
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5+ years of professional cabinetmaking or architectural millwork experience
• Strong problem-solving ability and creative mindset
• CNC programming and setup experience in woodworking required
• Strong understanding of joinery, sequencing, and fabrication methods
• Strong ability to read and work independently from shop drawings
• AutoCAD experience required
• RouterCIM CAM software experience strongly preferred; the successful candidate must become proficient
• Professional production cabinetmaking or architectural millwork experience strongly preferred; furniture, educational, or hobby experience alone may not fully align with the requirements of this position
WE OFFER:
• $32–39+ per hour plus union benefits
• Medical benefits, retirement program, paid vacation and holidays
• Long-term stable employment in a company with extremely low turnover
• Professional custom millwork environment
• Advanced equipment and challenging custom work
• Team-oriented culture focused on craftsmanship and doing quality work
