This lantern is dated: 5-86 (May 1986). It comes with the original box and instructions. It appears to have never been used, other than to see if it works, which it does. It has the original white picket fence Pyrex globe"

"The reason for the fence pickets is to keep rabbits from breaking your mantles! Seriously, the pickets help block the glare of the mantles. If you have the lantern low, keep the pickets up. If you hang the lantern up in a tree, you can flip the globe (prior to lighting)."

This lantern is made in Kansas and uses Coleman liquid fuel/white gas. It will also run on unleaded car gas, but the additives will require more frequent cleaning.
