TITLE: Manager, Outreach, Living Buildings

STATUS: Full-time, exempt, temporary-to-hire

REPORTS TO: Director, Outreach

LOCATION: Seattle, WA

The International Living Future Institute (ILFI), a dynamic and solutions-oriented non-profit, seeks an exceptional Outreach Manager to support the growth of the Living Building Challenge and other ILFI building certifications. ILFI’s mission is to lead and support the transformation toward communities that are socially just, culturally rich and ecologically restorative. The successful candidate must exhibit a strong passion for the organization’s mission.

The Living Buildings Outreach Manager serves a key role in the organization responsible for advancing ILFI’s building certification programs, including LBC, Core, Zero Energy, and Zero Carbon. The Outreach Manager will be working to increase the number of registered and certified projects by following up on leads, reaching out to new opportunities, and engaging with the community. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, as well as passionate about green building and eager to scale the Living Building Challenge.

ILFI offers a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented workplace that is mission driven. This job is full time, exempt, and requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate after hours meetings and travel as needed. ILFI has offices in Seattle, WA, and Pittsburgh, PA as well as additional remote staff across the country. The role will begin as a 4-month temporary position, with strong potential to become a permanent position with full benefits dependent on success and funding. The salary range for this position is $58,000-65,000 annually.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Implement the strategic growth plan to scale ILFI’s building certifications including LBC, Core, Zero Energy, and Zero Carbon, resulting in thousands of registered projects globally.
Exceed growth targets by generating new leads and closing opportunities.
Reach out to new organizations through outbound email and phone calls and manage inbound leads to encourage adoption of ILFI programs.
Help lead key market transformation initiatives including the Living Building Leaders, Technology Leaders, Healthcare Leaders, Retails Leaders, and Paris Solutions cohorts.
Track all leads and opportunities within Salesforce, keeping accurate and complete records.
Work directly with clients to walk them through the programs and assist them to overcome limitations and challenges.
Secure technical services contracts for ILFI program leaders to consult on projects that are looking to implement LBC in innovative ways or at scale through the Volume program.
Deliver talks, presentations and author thought leadership articles to increase awareness about the value of ILFI’s building certifications.
Stay current on ILFI’s full suite of programs and be able to provide powerful, inspiring presentations.
Facilitate key stakeholder engagement cohorts to bring ILFI programs to new markets.
Work on grant and funder deliverables and projects as needed.
Participate in seasonal sponsorship campaign efforts led by the Development team.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:

Bachelor’s degree in business, architecture or engineering, or field complementary to job duties and/or mission of the organization.
At least 5 years of experience with sales, architecture, real estate, or a related field.
Understanding of and passion for the sales process.
Comprehensive knowledge of green building issues, trends, and certification programs.
Experience within the architecture, real estate, and green building community.
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, public speaking, social media, press relations).
Interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with customers and understand their needs.
The drive and energy to manage multiple accounts while looking for new opportunities.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders representing different organizations, backgrounds and perspectives.
Proven organizational and time management skills.
Computer skills, especially Mac OS, Salesforce, Powerpoint, Word, and Excel.

Desired:

Living Future Accreditation and/or LEED Accreditation. Candidates who are not already Living Future Accredited will be supported in achieving their LFA within one year.
Experience working across virtual teams and with remote management.
Creative problem solving skills.
Master’s degree in a field relevant to job duties and green building professions.
