1965 Airstream Ambassador

fuel: other
transmission: other

This Airstream has been in our family for several years now and been a part of many memories. This unit weighs under 4,000 lbs. New units weigh more than double. Can be towed with a half ton or suitable SUV. It is ready to go camping. We decided to upgrade to a larger RV and unfortunately are selling our piece of Americana. Many upgrades in the past few years to include:

Axles, wheels, tires, brakes, water pump, water heater, domestic AC unit, furnace, dometic wood front to match fridge/freezer combo (2 way electric or propane), all new zip dee awning and hardware, fantastic fan, exterior power connection, propane tanks, power tongue jack, laminate flooring, full LED conversion, memory foam front gaucho, hardwired LP detector, two house batteries with selectors/battery disconnect (1 new deep cycle installed last year, multi stage converter and battery charger, exterior 12v outlets, rerouted city water connection for convenience, weight distributing hitch system mounted, new tow chains, tow wiring harness and plug, 4 mounted leveling/stabilizers, custom built outdoor stereo built into one storage compartment with Bluetooth/CD player and high quality marine speakers, screens all redone except for the door, tinted windows, outdoor LED porch light and housing. Still retains most of the original pieces to include cabinets (stain refreshed), oven, propane globe lantern, hood and fan, sink, stove, rear bathroom, and faucets. Needs a new toilet (functions but has a small fresh water leak in the seal when flushing). Tail light housings have some cracking but can be purchased new from vintage trailer supply, just haven't gotten to it. Been winterized and all work except floors done by Airstream of Spokane. All service records are retained by them. Polished in 2011 by previous owner. All new emblems and nameplates installed as well as decals dipped in nickel.

For a 1965 this unit is really in great shape. Everything is in working condition. Keep in mind it's a 1965 and every year blesses you with new opportunities to tighten things down and install a new window lever or something although many have already been replaced. Always winterized since we've owned it and stored in Tri-Cities for the drier climate. Has some blemishes and a few dents/scratches here and there all of which can be replaced by a skilled aluminum fabricator like silver bullet in Portland. We used this trailer several weeks per year in the summer and into late fall. Our family is sad to see it go. There aren't many left in this shape that are ready to camp.

We have a few things we might throw in for the right deal. A 4,500 watt generator, the weight distributing hitch system which makes towing a breeze and 12v led rope light for the awning and patio.

More pictures coming as soon as I can get over to Tri-Cities. Only serious inquiries with cash in hand. We do have the clean title in hand of course and a selling agent in Kennewick.
