Rare Air for sale.
It's official name in the Airstream registry is RAREAIR.
Very rare Airstream motor home for sale by owner. In 2009 I purchased this this 1989 370 LE Airstream Classic Motor Home. The title says it is a 1988 but it was sold as a 1989 model. They apparently only made, a total of 33 of this model for one production year and they were all sold as model year 1989. It is the longest Airstream motor home ever made. Mine was originally sold, in Tacoma Washington on 1-14-1989 for $134,363.
I am the third owner and this coach has always been well taken care of and always parked under cover. It has no dents or serious scratches. The window glass is all perfect. It has the original Corian counter tops, oak cupboards, oak flooring in the kitchen and wool carpet in the living room and bedroom. All systems have been repaired or replaced since I bought it in 2009. It is road worthy and is really fun to drive. It is built on a Gillig bus chassis and has air ride suspension. The motor is a 460 Ford V8 and the transmission is C-6 3 speed with a Gear Vendor under-over drive electronic 4th speed over drive. The original mileage is 71,000. It has an Onan 6,500 Generator, 4 burner range, convection microwave, 3-way hot water tank, 2-way refrigerator. I installed a new flat screen TV in the front and a Yamaha 5-1 stereo with a Blue Ray DVD player. The interior has new curtains in the front windows and new drapes in the bedroom. The old pastel upholstery was up graded to a beautiful custom one of a kind burgundy tapestry and lather combination. This coach was featured in Family Motor Coaching magazine in the March 2011 addition.
My preference would be to sell it to a collector as it deserves to be preserved for future generations to see. My second choice would be to sell it to an Airstream enthusiast that will continue to enjoy and maintain this rare piece of American history. This coach is beautiful inside and out and gets a lot of attention where ever we go. The value of this coach, if kept in the current condition will only go up over time.
Only 5 or 6 of this model are still being licensed and this one is spectacular. If you are interested in it, please contact me for additional information or additional pictures.
