Looking for a bass player to start original garage psych punk band to play some shows and have some fun. I am a 52 year old guitarist/synth/vocalist originally from L.A., Boston, and as of 2 years ago Seattle. I have played in a few bands where I have been the guitarist/vocalist and primary song writer in Boston and Los Angeles and now I am looking to get something started in Seattle. Some of my major influences are The Stooges, The Damned, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Can, Velvet Underground, Viagra Boys, Ty Segall, Ariel Pink, Psychedelic Furs, and many others, those are just the first few that came to mind. I have music from old bands you can hear to see if it is up your alley. I am working on new material that is a little more melodic and vox focused because I am working with a female vocalist that can sing but you can get the gist of what I do from past stuff. Ideally I would like to practice twice a week (I feel that is what it takes to get a band really sounding like a unit) and I have a place to play (I am converting my basement to a recording/rehearsal space. I have been playing with a few drummers and it has been going well so now I would like to get some bass going as I primarily play a hybrid of rhythm and lead that benefits a lot from a solid base. If any of this sounds interesting hit me up and we can see if things fit.
