Up for sale is a rare piece of Ovation history: a 1970/71 Model 1127-4 Glen Campbell Artist Balladeer.
This is an early-production, 5-digit serial number model (#10798) handcrafted in New Hartford, Connecticut.
This guitar features the premium appointments that defined the Artist series, including the beautiful AAA Sitka Spruce top and the intricate abalone diamond and square fretboard inlays.
It is equipped with its original Gold Schaller tuners featuring the vintage "O" script logo—a highly sought-after detail for collectors.
Condition: This guitar is perfectly playable with a straight neck and comfortable action.
The Lyrachord back is in excellent shape.
There is one small, barely noticable crack in the wood top (pictured), which is common for Ovations of this vintage and does not affect the structural integrity or the signature "punchy" projection of the instrument at all.
