1978 MCI Guitorgan B-35 - Aria Pro II ES-800 version
If you are not familiar with this, it will take some explaining.
MCI was a company that built an organ inside of various thin hollowbody guitars. The organ section was from Jennings and the sound is a 60s vox sound. It also has a separate traditional ES-345 type guitar and the two sounds can be blended together. The fret board has sensors built into it so you can make the organ sound by pressing down on the strings with your left hand (right handed player), while the pickups transmit a normal electric guitar sound at the same time.
The early versions were made in Texas using Univox guitar bodies. Later versions like this one used the more advanced Aria Pro II ES-800wk. That guitar by itself, without the whole organ add-in sells for over $2,000.
The guitar I am offering needs some attention. As a traditional guitar, the needs are minor. The binding has shrunk in one or two spots and a small section is missing. One of the humbuckers is not producing sound. It might be the pickup and it might be the wiring. However working on this guitar is much easier than an ES-335 because you easily open up the back section to work on the organ, so it's much easier to deal with the conventional guitar part of the wiring that trying to move things around inside the tiny f holes, etc. of an ES-345.
There are two missing parts. This is typical of most of the surviving versions that you will find. In addition to the guitar, you need a special cable and the original footswitch that acted as an expression pedal and also provided the power for the organ section. Those parts are around, but it may take you a little time to locate them. Some people are skilled enough to build their own replacements.
For now, I'm offering this one AS-IS at a price that reflects the issues. I can't test the organ section without the foot pedal power supply. I will be looking for that myself and if I find it before this guitar sells and the organ section works well, the price will go up substantially (or I may keep it).
Price today is $775 and it includes a good quality modern 335 hard case in great condition.
