This 10 string lap steel is a great instrument on its own or as a learning tool.
It is set up to practice for pedal steel
Instead of tuners, it uses the post system found on pianos and autoharps. The tuning wrench is included.
George L's E-66 pickup. Same type you will find on many professional pedal steels like Carter, Mullen and many others.
The pickup currently has a ground wire issue. Just as Fender links the ground to the hardware on a Stratocaster (wire goes from the vibrato claw to the pickup system ground wire), this steel quiets down during play with a wire from the bridge to the output ground.
I don't have time to add that at the moment (It involves loosening all the strings, etc.)
Once I do get time to address that, the price will go up to where this was originally posted.
If you want it now and are able to handle basic wiring issues, this will be your best price option
Steel plus tuning wrench (The Martin volume/tone preamp shown in the photos is no longer available.
$140 for a local purchase AS-IS.
