SUMMARY: Keeps all production machinery, mechanical and support equipment in safe reliable condition.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and replacing industrial equipment and machinery used in the automated processing, packaging, and casing of food products. Requires knowledge and skill of mechanical principles, pneumatics, electrical principles, machine shop techniques, pipe fitting, welding/brazing, and electronic instrumentation and controls, Microsoft software excel, word, able to email.
Keep work areas and equipment always clean and safe.
Follows all strict GMP and Safety procedures & policies - personal appearance, "clean shaven" beard net required, if over two day growth, (facial hair tight to face).
Perform duties with speed, precision, and conscientiousness and with a high regard for workplace safety and food safety.
Troubleshoot and make routine adjustments and repairs to high-speed industrial processing, packaging, casing, and palletizing equipment and machinery in order to maintain production and maintenance schedules.
Perform predictive maintenance in order to maintain the proper working order of all industrial processing, packaging, casing, and palletizing equipment and machinery in order to keep up with production and maintenance schedules.
Analyzes cause of breakdown and makes necessary repairs to electric and electronic circuitry and solid state devices such as program control, relays, timers, meters, etc.
Troubleshoot and replace electronic instrumentation, switches, and controls including PLC's.
Retool industrial processing, packaging, casing, and palletizing equipment and machinery as needed.
Repair and fabricate industrial parts using machine shop tools such as, lathe, mill, drill press, grinder, and welding/brazing equipment.
Keep up to date detailed records of (CMMS) work orders, maintenance activities, needed repairs, parts requests and inventories. (Employee signatures - check-off boxes' are required on all completed work order documents).
Assist in maintenance of stationary support and building systems including ammonia refrigeration, boilers, water softeners, compressed air, HVAC, waste treatment, and fire protection/sprinkler systems, all processing equipment and outside building maintenance.
Willing to work overtime, on-Call status, weekends and/or nights as required to achieve production and preventive maintenance schedules. (Frequent schedule changes can apply)
Reads blueprints, lays out, assembles, and installs, repairs and tests equipment wiring, fixtures, control equipment, air, gas, steam, water and waste disposal systems. Must be able to read and write numerous program languages to re-program electronics.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or GED along with electrical vocational training or 3-5 years' experience in electrical, electronic and maintenance jobs. Proof of qualifications may be required.
Maybe required to attend local college training classes (depending on experience).
Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must certify to operate all lineage equipment used in the warehouse.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must be capable of working off shifts and or weekends as necessary.
