Camellia Sinensis, this is the plant used to make green and black tea. Grows great in the Pacific Northwest. Yes, tea come from a variety of camellia! The young leaves are harvested and made into the different types of teas depending on how it is dried, fermented and processed.
Our plants are about 2.5-3 feet tall and can begin being harvested from the new growth in the spring.
