The largest persimmon variety, commonly sold in local grocery stores. Fruits are very large 4-inch-long, acorn-shaped fruit is deep orange when ripe, and very sweet and flavorful. This is an excellent variety for dried persimmons called Hoshigaki. Astringent until ripened off the tree and eaten when soft tender like tomatoes. Sweeter than the non-astringent Fuyu-style varieties.
