Most Italian and Stanley prune plums ripen in late summer, but Castleton ripens almost a month earlier! fruits is excellent, being pleasantly sweet. Their flesh is firmer than many other plum cultivars and fruit retain firmness well, both on the tree and in cold storage subsequent to harvest.
