WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The Flying Apron's Baking & Production team is looking for a new experienced baker for consistent & beautiful batter and dough production! We'd like someone with large-scale operational experience - or - the interest in producing in a large environment. We need a baker that is OBSESSED with making batters, doughs, breads, pies that are CONSISTENT and beautifully prepared to spec every day. We operate and produce products daily to support our retail and wholesale operations. Shifts can start as early as 6 a.m. and will generally conclude by 3 to 4 p.m. daily.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, WHO YOU ARE
You take pride in your work. You are curious. You ask questions, communicate and pay attention. You seek out efficient methods for stocking and replenishing raw goods so they flow with the needs of recipes and movements of the team. You understand that when the work is done it's time to go home, but that you don't go home until the work is done but you know the goal is to accomplish both leaving on time and completing all work assigned, every day. Cleanliness is second nature to you; you insist upon sterilizing between shifts, understand the value of a clean and neat work space and dream about new side-work and cleaning projects. You're a stickler for consistency in end-product delivery, and know the shortcuts to speedy prep, or have a knack for figuring out how to assembly-line produce when necessary. You are systematic in your execution of tasks; you thrive off of the hustle and buzz that a rockin' kitchen provides.

WHAT'S REQUIRED
Degree in the culinary arts - or - 2-years industry experience in baking specifically
COVERAGE NEEDED: Sun/Mon/Wed/Fri

WHAT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE
Experience in a chemically challenging environment -- we're gluten-free and plant-based here, this is a completely different ball game, baking-wise
Gluten-free or plant-based baking background, especially working with the combination of the two

WHAT THE JOB IS
Purpose: batter prep, dough prep, bake-off & production, produce delicious baked goods, create new and wonderful goods when interested and challenged to do so in addition to design and/or skills to train for design
Positions: we are looking for Sun/Mon/Wed/Fri coverage weekly, from 6:30-3:30 - 1 position available - OR - 2 part-time positions also can be considered, minimum 2 shifts per position per week. All candidates are subject to a 90-day probationary & training period.
Shifts & Scheduling: we bake 6-days a week, with Saturdays off except during the Holidays. It's imperative that bakers be prepared for shifts that could be scheduled anytime throughout the week, depending on need - stable shift scheduling is available - we aim to schedule 4-6 weeks out at a time.
Location: Fremont Neighborhood, Seattle
Hours: Full-Time would be 3-4 shifts (36-40 hours) per week, Part-Time 2 shifts (18-20 hours)
