RF ENGINEER

Summary
Radio Frequency Engineer will have at least 5 years engineering experience. They will design and execute engineering department tasks including RF design, specification review, systems coordination, design planning, design scheduling, commissioning planning, production reports, component selection, component testing and verification operations by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The following are the duties associated with being a DAS Simplified Radio Frequency Designer. Other duties may be assigned.

RF Design Work– The RF Designer will act as principal RF Design resource for projects as determined by the Engineering Manager:
Successful completion of the initial design and submittal in iBwave for submission to the Customer, Cellular Carrier or Authority Having Jurisdiction.
Design coordination with CAD drafting where applicable.
Prepare and answer email and traditional correspondence with customers, potential customers and other relevant third parties.
Review new or changed information to correctly capture added scope.
Estimate, prepare and submit RFI’s as needed.
Generate bill of materials for project designs
Generate production reports.
Interface with the Engineering Operations Manager to establish task deadlines.
Perform RF design reviews as requested by the Engineering Operations Manager.
Support – RF Engineer will support the Sales team, Project managers and Field engineer operations by providing technical assistance and/or clarification:
Provide technical support for field engineers during system turn up and commissioning
Review turn up documentation/work plan prior to field engineer deployment
Attend conference calls and meetings with sales staff and project managers to provide technical support
Provide leadership with RF Designers and RF Design Assistants with ERRCS Alarming requirements and system optimization support for the field engineering.
Occasionally support Field engineering department by performing onsite commissioning and survey work on an as needed basis.
Authority Having Jurisdiction Outreach Program:
Source required information for maintenance of database through routine data collection.
Routine data entry and retrieval.
Establishing a plan to maintain the accuracy of the database.
Estimation Generation – The RF Engineer will periodically participate in generation of estimates for the Sales Team.
Read and interpret technical specifications and proposal requests.
Square footage and equipment takeoffs from PDF and DWG format drawings.
Prepare and format estimates per the direction of the Engineering Manager utilizing DAS Simplified templates.
Maintain a record of generated estimates.
Assist in the preparation of submittals and O & M documentation, project closeouts and documentation flow on projects.
Attend project meetings as assigned.
Assist with development and management of department policies & procedures.
Support Engineering staff and Company staff with company initiatives
Support team members with special projects
Demonstrate flexibility when performing job duties whenever volume and requests for services require. Ability to pitch in where necessary.
Represent DAS Simplified with the highest of professional standards to all of our partners and customers.

Education/Experience
BSEE or equivalent. EIT preferred

GROL

IBwave Level 1 Certification.

Language Ability
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to write and speak English fluently.

Math Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, logarithms and decimals.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Acrobate/Bluebeam, Spreadsheet software and Project Management software.
