Seattle Young Engineers is looking for Instructors for after school enrichment program in Seattle schools.
About the Program: We offer prestigious after school activities for elementary school children in the fields of mechanical engineering and science. In these programs we will use motorized Lego in order to teach theoretical STEM subjects. After a short theoretical explanation, the children build motorized Lego models for them to understand and implement the theory they've just learned.
-Must love working with children and have a passion for guidance
-Experience in teaching/guiding especially with children (a plus)
-Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written
-Able to follow a lesson plan but can be creative, flexible, and quick thinking when needed
-Enjoys a fast-paced environment with daily class goals
-Must be able to successfully pass criminal history background check per Seattle Public School requirements
-Willing to work at least 3 days/week and committed for two semesters. Preference given to candidates who can commit to entire school year
-For Lead Instructors: Must have a car, valid driver’s license and car insurance. Your vehicle should be able to carry 3 medium storage containers and a folding cart (usually can fit in a moderate size trunk or back seat)

This position is Part-time Monday-Friday, from 2:15-4:15pm; except on Wednesday it is from 1-3pm
** No prior knowledge in science or mathematics or Lego building required but ability to learn and perform highly desirable. Our training will include all the materials/concepts taught and develop your Lego building skills.
