We are seeking a skilled and professional English-Ilocano interpreter to provide critical communication support for attorney-client communications. This role combines flexible remote work with occasional in-person support, offering meaningful impact in legal advocacy for an underrepresented language community.
Work Arrangement
• Primarily remote interpreting via phone and Zoom
• All sessions scheduled with advance notice to align with your availability
• One required in-person session: November 25, 2025, near Eastlake and Harvard (UW area, Seattle); 90-120 minutes duration
• Occasional weekend in-person appointments in the Auburn/Federal Way area
Key Responsibilities
• Provide accurate and professional interpreting during attorney-client communications
• Translate written communications and legal documents from English to Ilocano with precision and cultural appropriateness
• Facilitate clear understanding between English-speaking attorney and Ilocano-speaking client in sensitive legal matters
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries in all interactions
• Deliver both verbal and written interpreting services with legal and medical terminology accuracy
Required Qualifications
• Fluent verbal and written proficiency in both English and Ilocano
• Relevant experience and/or certifications in interpreting, translation, legal services, or related fields
• Professional approach to sensitive and confidential legal subject matter
• Ability to work independently with flexible scheduling
• Willingness to undergo a background check (required due to the confidential nature of legal work)
