1982 Porsche 924

fuel: gas
odometer: 107000
title status: clean
transmission: manual

A very original 924. Porsche's first dive into water-cooled rides. While the 924 has long been derided amongst Porschephiles, it is the car that helped save the marquee at a low point and kept the 911 928 etc viable. It would go on to birth the 944 (yet another under appreciated classic until recently). The 924 was designed by Porsche, for VW yet powered by Audi. Wahnsinnig!
Local car, third owner with lots of cool ephemera including original window sticker, manual, keys and dealer installed stereo "upgrade" to the Autobahn cassette. Classic! I just finished putting a Bosch Alternator and belt in it. Runs and drives good. Paint is nice sans sunroof and dent in the driver's door. Not many classics out there for 3k. Much less with a Porsche pedigree.
The bad: Front seats are split along seams. Correct kits available on eBay for $325. (This is not a hard job for the average DIYer). Car is very original and that includes hoses. Shop bluetaped the ones that need attention sooner than later. Brakes seem a little soft at startup. My hunch is air in the lines. But stops straight and true. Drivers door was backed into recently. Sadly that marred a really nice rust free original. I cannot fathom this paint job is original but then again I can find no over spray ANYWHERE. You decide. Has spare, jack, etc. No moisture issues. This car was garaged all it's existence. Records of 5k in repairs about 8 years ago at 98k but less than 10k since. Serious only. If you sound like a bot you will be treated like one.
In closing, lets be respectful of each others time. Life is short. Don't come look, tell me you are coming back to buy it and then say, "Oh I meant for "200 bucks, a couple old Mad Magazines and two Bazooka Joe gum wrappers". It is a 2400 hundred dollar-running and driving-Porsche 924.
So if wanna you tell me "I remember when you could pick these up for 1K" I will respond, "I remember when you could buy one at a dealer new for 20K"...End rant here. Peace
