A rare vintage Mercedes 300CD turbo-diesel coupe is offered for the discriminating collector who knows the value of these iconic machines. Originally a So.Cal. car, with only 125,000 miles showing, ready for the restoration I began but cannot completed (health issues). Absolutely no rust, the windows work, the sunroof does not leak, the engine starts easily and drives the car in the leisurely manner as it was intended the German executive would enjoy. I bought the car four years ago intending to restore it to daily driver condition, but age and health will not allow me to continue my efforts. I have on hand almost all of the parts needed to finish my intended work, rubber seals, moldings, leather seat covers, headliner kit, headlight update to modern standards, new Continental CD/Stereo with new speakers, new window switches, restored interior wood trim, battery, hood liner, brake rotors/pads, front wheel bearings etc. Something like $4,000 in new parts. The body is clean, needs minor ripple repairs on the trunk lid. Not original paint, but still red as the original color was. I have adjusted the valves, replaced the auto. trans fluid, cleaned the injectors, replaced fuel/oil/air filters. Original wheels require rare 14in tires, so replaced with Mercedes 15in wheels/new tires from newer vintage. Drove it from Everett to Anacortes without issue. If you are aware of these machines, and are capable of continuing the work I started, give me a shout. If you think that this is an inexpensive entry into Mercedes ownership, please look elsewhere. The car has collector plates on it.
