Second edition of The Hog Farm And Friends poster for Thursday night gatherings of the “Hog Farmers” at Cinemateque 16 on Sunset Boulevard.
Size: 20.25” x 29”.
Iconic artist Rick Alden Griffin originally created the first edition in 1969.
Griffin was a pillar of psychedelic poster art, ZAP Comix visionary, and frequent Grateful Dead collaborator.
This second edition created for a special Griffin exhibit in London in 1976, is also known as the “Roundhouse Edition.”
This poster is the 1976 European Limited Edition and is #1214 of a numbered run of 3000 copies.
This is an AMS (Art Materials Service) aluminum framed, foam board backed, with face glass, pristine condition original poster.
The can in the center reads “Royal Bindweed Venom.”
NOTE: The Hog Farm is an organization considered to be America’s longest-running hippie commune. It began as an actual collective hog farm in Tujunga, California founded in the 1960’s by peace activist and clown, Wavy Gravy.
The Hog Farm is still in existence today at Black Oak Ranch, Laytonville, California.
