1984 Kiwi 42. Was built in 1984 for IOR racing. The original name was Livewire. 9k o.b.o.

I'm selling because with fish prices being down and me being a fisherman I don't have the money. Was planning to haul her out and have some professional work done, but that isn't possible for me. Hoping to find Proteus a new home where she gets the work done to her that she needs.

She's a beautiful boat and an absolute joy to sail. Very fast and excels at sailing close hauled. Made to be crewed by ten but can be sailed solo by an experienced mariner. We did 27kts through Rosario Strait just me and my dog. Most of what she needs is general maintenance and haul out/ belowdecks work to make her more comfortable.

She needs a new starter and a new dodger top and windows. The windlass currently doesn't work but did 4 months ago, I will be fixing that in the coming days. There are some minor cracks in the deck. Needs lights below decks. Needs a new plotter. Some of the running rigging needs replaced.

Comes with 12 sails. 2 spinnakers, 2 storm head sails, drifter, 4 or 5 laminate mains, 2 or 3 laminate headsails, and a smaller dacron main. All sails are laminate and in good condition except for one laminate main that's seen better days, a dacron main that needs clew strap, and the storm sails / spinnakers. The drifter is in decent condition but not setup for the autofurler.

Has a propane BBQ on the stern, solar panels, autopilot is installed but I haven't used it, good winches, 3 smaller stern anchors and chain/ line, tons of electrical extras, a never used diesel heater, headsail auto furler, lazyjacks, hydraulic boom vang, 3 water pumps, tons of hardware, new bilge pumps, wiring, lights, gimbaled propane stove, deck speakers, 3 jibstays for storm headsails, lots of other odds and ends like paint etc. Everything listed goes with. Some stuff I may want to keep but if it seals the deal then it's yours.

I will be updating this post as time goes on. There are many more photos. Feel free to ask any questions.
