About the Newport 27
Well-loved, upgraded, and ready for her next chapter!
It's time for Heart of Gold to find her next steward. This classic Newport 27’ is a solid, comfortable, and capable sailboat. Ideal for Duck Dodge “racing”, Puget Sound sailing, Lake Union fireworks, weekend sleep-overs, or learning to sail. She’s been continuously improved over the last five years and offers exceptional value for someone looking for a cruiser with character.
The Newport 27 is known for her wide beam and flush deck design - there’s no narrow catwalk on deck, which translates into easy deck mobility (and lounging) and excellent interior volume and livability. The layout feels open and comfortable, making her surprisingly well-suited for extended stays aboard.
She sails well, is very forgiving for newer sailors (has been sailed by kids), yet still fun and responsive for the experienced sailor - she can be single handed! Boats are always a work in progress - this one comes with some big-ticket updates already done and the remaining finishing touches ready to go. She has had a long legacy of fun and friendships. Moorage at Fremont is fantastic - view of the city and right in Fremont!
