This is a 1981 Merit 25 sailboat. We have owned it 30 years and now it is time to let it go. It has been a great all around racer/cruiser Puget Sound boat. It is nimble in light air, and stiff in a fresh breeze. The flush deck design helps provide sure footing during sail changes, hoists, spinnaker jibes and take downs.
These boats are a pleasure to sail. They have a balanced helm, a very manageable sail plan, and sensible deck layout.
The boat comes with everyday knock around sails and an excellent suit of Lidgard and Ballard racing sails that are in crispy new and nearly new condition. It has an excellent low time 8hp long shaft Johnson outboard.
The last haul out and bottom was in 2021 @ CSR. The boat has only been out once since then. It needs some buffing and clean up. It does clean up nicely.
Somebody is going to get an excellent deal on an excellent boat.
Here are some photos. The photos of the boat in the water were taken at the time of posting. The photos of the boat out of the water were taken when it was hauled out at CSR.
