This is a cool boat. It’s just stable enough for beginners to learn on but fast, fun and rewarding to keep the experts entertained for years to come. This boat will plane off the wind in a breeze with the kite up. The easily driven hull and large sail area will keep the boat moving in really light air and when the breeze really comes up the mainsail is reefable. That and the hiking straps give the boat a usable wind range of 2-25 knots. This boat is ideal for doublehanded crew but is easy enough to sail singlehanded and comfortable with a crew of three. It’s a real swiss army knife.
RS recently stopped producing the Vision, however RS and West Coast Sailing still support the boat with all the spares and sails you need to keep it going.
The boat is ready to sail and everything works. There are several cracks that have been repaired in the cockpit sole and deck. There is one small leak in the sole/deck that we have not tracked down that will slowly fill the hull with water if the boat is turtled. The new owner should pump compressed air into the drain plug and soap it down to find the leak. Repairs can be done with plastic welding or gflex epoxy. You may need to reseal some deck hardware.
This boat does not come with a trailer or launching trolley. There is a boat ramp near Renton Sailing Center. This boat will fit in the bed of a full size pickup truck.
The boat is lying at Renton Sailing Center. Please contact John to arrange a look-see or reach out with any questions.
