This is a rather unusual work of art. It is constructed from four sheets of paper or thin fabric (I'm not sure which) . The top sheet has a leafy design. I can't detect a regular pattern in the design. It seems quite random.
The artwork is floating in a deep wood frame and is about 1 inch below the plexiglass. It is signed by the artist and titled "Memories," perhaps referring to the different layers and the folding.
The framed dimensions are 36 1/2 x 30 inches. It is rather heavy. I had planned to paint the frame, but never got around to doing it.
This artwork comes from the Harris G. Strong gallery in Maine. You can find some information on the internet. As I've learned, this gallery was primarily a studio where various artists worked for Harris Strong, who himself was a noted artist. I can't make out the name of the actual artist who made this unique work. It was not Harris Strong himself.
The price is $20.
