Background painting and tile acquisition by artist Chuck Loft.
It took 8 years to collect the Scrabble tiles across 3 states. I bought the games at yard sales, estate sales, garage sales, and thrift stores.
The background attempts to show equality through the depiction of men and women of equal size and importance. The different colors are to signify peoples skin color, gray is for the elderly, blue is for the homeless, and the chalk outline represents those who have passed.
The piece is 36 x 48".
