Fish Processor/ Lodge Maintenance – On-Site Position
We’re seeking a reliable Fish Processor to join our team at Yakutat Lodge, a beautiful remote lodge where exceptional hospitality meets the wilderness. We operate 2 charter boats and 5 drifts every day. —often working independently in a dynamic, seasonal environment. Work days are 10 hours 6 days per week. We hire people from all walks of life so it’s important to be able to work well with others. Room and board are included with the job. All employees are subject to a drug screening.
Key Responsibilities:
-Process all fish from the charter fleet and river fleet including Halibut, Lingcod, rockfish and salmon
-Detailed oriented note keeping to make sure guests fish is all accounted for and in the correct freezer
-Assist with packing guests fish on the day of departure with detailed information on how the fish will be sent out via check baggage or Air cargo
-Make sure the cut house is organized and extremely clean not to attract wildlife
-Assist the captains with docking and offloading/ onloading
-Perform repairs and troubleshooting with limited parts and resources, using creative yet safe improvisation to solve issues quickly
-Anticipate and carry out preventative maintenance to avoid disruptions and extend the life of equipment and facilities
-Handle general maintenance tasks (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC basics, painting, grounds work, etc.) across buildings, systems, and outdoor areas
-Respond promptly and calmly to urgent fixes, especially during peak guest periods or “crunch time”
-Maintain a clean, organized workspace and tools/equipment inventory
-Live on-site for extended periods (several months at a time) in a remote setting

Qualifications -
- Must be at least 18 years old
-Must have a valid driver’s license
The Yakutat Lodge has been in business since the late 80s and has provided our clientele with the finest customer service available in the industry. Applicant will live in a shared housing situation and will have a roommate. Yakutat Alaska is a small fishing village located on the Northern tip of the Alaska Panhandle. There is no road system and the only way to travel is by boat or plane. The town does have some amenities i.e.(grocery stores, post office, gym, medical and dental clinic) but is still pretty remote. We do have Wi-Fi and cell service (AT&T) and there will be ample opportunities to explore and go fishing. Our Perfect candidate will have a professional attitude and appearance, not be a drug addict or alcoholic and be able to handle high pressure situations. We offer a competitive pay DOE with a very generous tip package that will be paid out every two weeks. This is a hands-on, live-in role best suited for someone who enjoys problem-solving, independence, and being part of a small, tight-knit team in a stunning natural setting.
