I'd rather trade for a 1979 or 1978 Jeep cj5 if someone is interested. It's hard to find an older jeep this solid, I bought it in July of 2010 from the son who's father owned it since 1973 and used it to feed his animals. The son bought it in 1991 and painted it blue. He rebuilt the f-head motor professionally. The engine has approx. 3-4k on it and has been converted to 12 volt. Stock transmission is a three speed with the twin stick transfer case.Transmission works great, clutch is good and the engine doesn't smoke or burn. It has a M38 heater which blows good and hot. I had the following done to it. Brand new wheels and tires, Reseal transfer case and replaced the front output shaft seal, Repaired frame and bushing mounts for the springs, R & R bearings and seals front knuckles, removed the floor pans, steering column, with gear box and overhauled steering gear, front wheel alignment.
Checked all suspension and steering parts for wear, checked alignment for all 4 wheels, adjusted caster, camber, toe-in, and thrust angle as needed on all four wheels and replaced the idler arm and drag link. Also 3-way flasher, new distributor, cap rotor and points, sandblasted loose front end parts, new gas floor well, and had the old gas tank relined. I also have the rear seat without the cushions or installed yet and the frame for the canvas top. I do have the canvas top, side curtains and doors that go with the sale or trade. She starts right up but doesn't go very fast :-) 35 to 40 mph. I had it at the body shop for a year but the owner got to ill to do it so I'm just kinda done working on it. This old jeep is not a rust bucket and hasn't been all cut up. I'm having a hard time uploading pictures but I'll post more later.
