is the leading manufacturer of digital planetarium projection systems for teaching astronomy. We have an immediate opening for a Technical Support Associate. Primary duties include providing excellent remote support to our existing customer base of close to 800 systems worldwide. Should be able to be on-call periodically for possible emergency support calls.
Effectively and professionally communicate through electronic mail and web forums
Clearly communicate to customers in distress via phone
Read and understand emails written by ESL (English as a Second Language) users
Standard office application use and experience
Type at least 40wmp
Ability to use basic e-mail and office productivity programs
Ability to effectively search for documentation while troubleshooting with customers
Experience using multiple web browsers
Hardware/Software technical and troubleshooting expertise
Excellent listener with ability to remotely guide users through basic troubleshooting steps
Ability to rapidly differentiate between hardware, software, or user error
Ability to quickly identify issues requiring escalation
Ability to learn and use Customer Relationship Management and issue tracking software
Can follow QC checklists to review hardware builds and outgoing orders
Ability to manage your time and prioritize tasks efficiently
Preference will be given to applicants with one or more of the following.
Experience using planetarium software or systems
Creating simple illustrative or educational macros for computer systems
Maintaining technical documentation
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must have natural or corrected visual acuity of 20/20 in at least one eye.
